Today cookingwithfafa.com is officially live! I am so excited to share this blog with you guys and show you what’s new. So much love and work went into putting this blog together so I hope you guys love it as much as I do!
So, what’s new?
Self-hosted! – I use Bluehost, check them out here.
I am finally self-hosting my own site! Meaning I own it, I can make it look how I want and blah blah. It’s an awesome feeling and was so much fun putting it all together!
New branding! – Contact me for branding here.
Yes I changed my old simple green logo into something more fun and open. I wanted it to represent me and who I am and make this blog a positive atmosphere.
*branding was done all by me. I do freelance work, so if you’re interested, please don’t hesitate to contact me! I’d love to collaborate 🙂
New site layout! – Check them out here.
I wanted to change my confusing layout to something organized and simple. I got this amazing Kindred theme from the lovely people at Station Seven. They are super helpful and are amazing designers.
I am so excited to show you guys what I have been working on for months!!! I really wanted to expand this blog into more of what I love but combining food within it. I want to make sure this stays a food/recipe blog. New content includes, basics, beauty and lifestyle.
Basics – learn the Basics here.
I wanted a section on where you can learn to cook the basics. When i started cooking, I had to learn how to make the simple things before I went on to making complicated dishes. You can learn everything from how to make white rice to how to dice an onion. These will help you get started and master the art of cooking.
Beauty – Check out Beauty here.
I wanted to combine beauty x food together to share my favourite DIY masks, lip scrubs, toners, etc. They’re easy, affordable and so good for your skin!
Lifestyle – Check out Lifestyle here.
This is a section for fun DIY, info, ideas posts. Everything from the best gifts for foodies to what fruits and veggies are in season right now. Check out a post here.
New recipe cards!
This has to be my favourite! You can now easily print off any recipe on the blog. All you have to do is click the print button on each recipe card. Check the example below:
Turkey Bacon Sandwich
1 Chiabatta bun
4 turkey bacon strips
1 tbsp canola oil
2 slices of tomatoes
1 onion slice
In a frying pan, heat 1 tbsp of canola oil at high heat. Place your 4 turkey bacon strips and fry each side for about 1-2 mins until golden.
Place ciabatta bread sliced in half into a toaster. (toast to your liking)
Once the bread has been toasted, spread one side with mayo and the other with honey mustard with a small drizzle of Sriracha.
Then, place the fried turkey bacon, toped with 2 slices of tomatoes and a slice of onion.
Close the sandwich together and enjoy!
