For all of you who follow my blog posts, I post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. But I missed last Friday! I was sooo swapped last week with work and errands that I just couldn’t find the time. Plus, I didn’t pre-shoot recipes on time 🙁 But I did share a quick tip on where i shop for food blog props. Check out my social channels to find out!
I haven’t done a basic recipe in a while and thought I’d share one of my faves; quinoa. It’s healthy, light, simple and so good. You can put it in a bowl, as a side dish and even make meatballs and patties out of them. Currently, I am on a healthy kick. I’ve reduced the amount of red meat I eat and started adding more seafood and chicken into my diet. Plus, the only red meat I love is in burgers. But, there’s so many vegan and chicken alternatives that I’ve tried and was quite impressed.
Hope you guys enjoy this basic and start adding quinoa into your diet more often. Next time, try quinoa instead of your usual carb or protein.
How To Cook Quinoa
1/4 cup quinoa
3/4 cup water (add more later if needed)
Salt to taste
- In a small saucepan add 1/4 cup quinoa, salt and 2/4 cup water.
- Heat saucepan at high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat and simmer at low for 20 mins.
- If you’re making more, add 1 cup quinoa with 2-3 cups water. The more water, the softer and fluffier.
