Today I have a delicious recipe inspired by fast food-chain Teriyaki Experience. This was always my go to chain when I was shopping at the mall because 1. they cook it in front of you and 2. they use healthy and basic ingredients and 3. they fry everything on water or rice vinegar.
Enjoy this recipe and let me know how it turned out using the hashtag #CookingWithFafa!
Healthy Chicken Teriyaki
2 chicken breast
1/2 cup broccoli
1/2 cup bean sprout
1/2 cup mushrooms
1/3 cup of bell peppers
2 tsps rice vinegar
1/2 cup Teriyaki sauce
2-3 tbsps honey
1/2 tsp corn starch
Heat the pan at high heat and slice the chicken breast into small strips. Once the pan is heated, add in the sliced chicken breast into the pan and drizzle with a little bit of water and 1 tsp of rice vinegar. Cook for about 5-10 mins or until chicken is cooked through.
Start by slicing and chopping the mushrooms and bell peppers. Set the chicken aside in a bowl and heat up the same pan. Add in the mushrooms, bell peppers, broccoli and bean sprout. Again, drizzle with water and 1 tsp of rice vinegar. Cook until veggies are half way cooked though so there’s some crunchiness to them.
In a small saucer on high heat, add in 1/2 teriyaki sauce, 2-3 tbsps honey and 1 tsp corn starch. Mix all the ingredients. Once the mixer starts to rise, remove from heat.
Serve with white rice with the chicken and veggies on top and sauce poured over. For a little heat, add some Sriracha!
