I love everything and anything coconut. Like those Bounty chocolate bars…anyone remember those? Every bite took you to a tropical paradise. Or Piña coladas…creamy and coconutty, the best combo.
Not only are coconuts delicious, but they’re super good for your skin, specifically the oil from coconuts. Coconut oil helps keep skin nourished and moisturized for hours, helps with makeup removal without drying you out and prevents aging! So many amazing benefits there’s no reason not to use it.
Coconut oil can be quite expensive so make sure you’re getting it organically and in a small bottle. You do not need a lot! It’s super super fatty so it’s guaranteed to moisture your whole body with just 1/2 tsp.
Today, I have a quite and simple facial mask/scrub recipe using bananas and coconuts. Bananas work as a natural brightening agent while the coconut works to moisturize. Leaving your skin supple and soft.
Coconut & Banana Moisturizing Mask
1 ripe banana
1 tsp coconut oil
Sprinkle of chia seeds
- In a small to medium sized bowl, mix all ingredients together making sure to mash up the bananas well.
- Apply to face and leave it on for 5-10 mins.
- While washing mask off, lightly exfoliate. The chia seeds work as the exfoliators!
